CIEE Palma de Mallorca Fall 2014 - FIRST DAY IN PALMA

Bailey, Charlotte, Cullen, Daniel, Elizabeth and Keara arrived yesterday into Palma de Mallorca. How exciting to meet at the Orientation Hotel and then wander around the old streets of Palma for the first time!

Plaza Mayor

Plaza Mayor

The first time that a person sees the Mediterranean Sea from the top of the 16th Century walls of the old City of Palma, with the impressive Gothic Cathedral behind and the deep blue sea on the front, one can’t stop marveling and thinking how lucky Mallorcans are, being able to see this view every single day.

We ended the day having delicious Spanish tapas such as pulpo a la gallega, gambas al ajillo, pimientos de padrón, fiambres, tumbet, queso manchego, and more. And then of course a chocolate dessert, mouse de chocolate con nata, which has chosen unanimously by the six students.

Today students are spending the morning discovering Palma downtown with one of the Guardian Angels, David. And in the afternoon we have orientation sessions to help them prepare for a wonderful experience in Mallorca.

Have a great semester!
